Talking Environment...

Talkington Bates has always been very eco-aware and is fully committed to using fresh, local, seasonal and organic produce that is sustainably sourced. In 2007, we were awarded the ISO 14001 accreditation in recognition of our dedication to running an environmentally-aware business.

Our environmental consciousness extends beyond food to encompass the entire organisation, including initiatives such as: the use of 100% biodegradable packaging, all stationery is printed on 100% recycled paper, suppliers based within ten miles of each site wherever possible, cotton “bags for life” provided in which customers can take food away.

Whilst food is our number one passion, we see no reason why we can not also care passionately about the environment.

Talking Organic

We pride ourselves on using the best quality fresh produce available, and feel these local organic fruits and vegetables compliment our fresh approach to food. I hope you enjoy the taste of your fresh organic produce.....

“River Nene Organic Farm sits in the Nene Valley, in a village called Sutton. Stan Cliffe, the Farm Manager, has managed the farm organically since April 2000. His 44 years of experience and tremendous enthusiasm gave him the perfect springboard to take on the organic challenge.

Riverford Farm
“Guy Watson began farming at Riverford in 1985 on three acres of land on the Watson family farm based in Staverton, South Devon. With the land fully converted to organic status in 1987, Guy began delivering his vegetables to local shops, including his brother’s farm shops.
